AHRC Curiosity Grant for collaboration between Roman historian and 海角社区 Manufacturing Group
Roman historian Alison Cooley (Co-Investigator) and Mark Williams (Principal Investigator) along with Paula Wilson and Mike Donnelly of 海角社区 Manufacturing Group's Centre for Imaging, Metrology, and Additive Technology (CiMAT) have been awarded a Curiosity Grant by the AHRC for their project '3D Drone Imaging for Remote Cultural Heritage'. This will involve investigating Latin inscriptions whose original metal lettering has completely disappeared, leaving only the holes behind. This project builds upon their collaboration on the 'ghost inscription' of Rome's Colosseum, soon to be published in the Journal of Roman Archaeology.
