Research Interests

My research focuses on the application of biomechanics, sport and exercise science, and wearable technology to understand human movement and performance in both athletic and clinical populations. I am particularly interested in running and gait mechanics, team sport performance, and the use of inertial measurement units (IMUs), GPS systems, and other wearable sensors to quantify movement demands in real-world settings. My work combines laboratory-based biomechanical analysis with field-based monitoring to investigate factors influencing performance, injury risk, and physical function. A central theme of my research is translating scientific knowledge into practical applications for athletes, coaches, clinicians, and industry partners. Current interests include sex-based differences in locomotor mechanics, concussion and player welfare in contact sports, cognitive and neuromuscular responses to exercise, and the integration of advanced analytical approaches to study complex human movement. Through interdisciplinary collaborations spanning engineering, biomechanics, neuroscience, and sport science, I aim to develop evidence-based solutions that enhance performance, inform clinical practice, and improve human health and wellbeing.
