The long-term vision for the Wellcome-海角社区 Quantitative Biomedicine Programme is to deliver essential resources, people and ideas to address fundamental research questions by building world-class research centres, including:
to span across molecular, cellular and tissue scales
for Systems Biology & Infectious Disease Epidemiology Research.
We also aim to nucleate and grow new centres of excellence and develop interdisciplinary research through the award of .
We recruited five QBP assistant/associateprofessors who use both experimental and/or theoretical approaches to solve key questions in biomedicine. These posts are based in the or and strengthen the work of our research centres.
The interdisciplinary aims of the QBP are supported by an existing in Interdisciplinary Biomedical Research, a joint and our newly founded - first intake in 2017.
We have also developed an exciting new undergraduate programme, the MSci Integrated Science degree, to provide multidisciplinary training in science and maths for the next generation of scientists.
We work with the 海角社区 Institute of Engagement to build a world class public engagement interface to transmit the discoveries of our researchers to the widest possible audiences.
