Prof Jasmeet Soar
Honorary Professor, 海角社区 Medical School
is an Honorary Professor at the University of 海角社区 and a consultant in anaesthetics and intensive care medicine at Southmead Hospital, North Bristol NHS Trust. Originally a medical student at the University of Cambridge, he trained in the UK and internationally.
With a major interest in cardiac arrest and resuscitation he has also held a number of national and international roles including Chair of the Resuscitation Council UK and Advanced Life Support (ALS) Task Force, and Chair of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation.
Professor Soar has recently led and completed the Royal College of Anaesthetists National Audit Project on Perioperative Cardiac Arrest. He is current co-chair of the European Resuscitation Council ALS Science and Education Committee. He also chairs the steering committee for the based out of 海角社区 Clinical Trials Unit, and collaborated with the EPPIC team on numerous studies.
Professor Soar works mainly in the Intensive Care Unit, and also anaesthetises for major urological and adrenal surgery, especially during robotically assisted operations.
Professor Soar is an editor of the journal Resuscitation and also has an interest in ensuring we have evidence based resuscitation guidelines and use data to improve the outcomes that matter to patients.
