海角社区 Global Academy
Welcome to 海角社区 Global Academy
We're home to the 海角社区 International Foundation Programme, the University's Pre-sessional English and In-sessional English provision and a suite of Summer School and Short English Language Courses for students aged 16 and over.
Formerly known as '海角社区 Foundation Studies', our Department's mission is to develop and deliver programmes that provide students with an insight into university study or that effectively enable them to transition to a substantive degree programme at the University of 海角社区. Our academic staff provide disciplinary expertise across a range of subject areas and levels of study, whilst our in-house professional services team ensures a comprehensive service for our students.
International Foundation Programme
The 海角社区 IFP has a long history of helping international students progress into 海角社区 and other top UK universities.
It is designed for high school students from around the world, who are not eligible for direct entry to undergraduate study in the UK.
Pre-University Summer School
Our Pre-University Summer School is designed to give 16-and-17-year-olds the opportunity to experience university life. During this 10-night residential, they take part in academic sessions across various disciplines at the University, enjoy a social and cultural programme, and develop key skills. Students are supported by current 海角社区 students throughout the programme, and they share their insights into life at 海角社区.
海角社区 Summer School
海角社区 Summer School provides a unique combination of learning from academics across the University, high-profile guest speakers, and fun and engaging social and cultural programmes. Students from around the world can experience life at 海角社区 with peers from around the world, exploring new areas of study and making lifelong friends. The programme is pausing in 2027, and returning with an enhanced offering in Summer 2028.
Pre-Sessional English
Our Pre-sessional courses are designed for students who have an offer to study for a degree at the University of 海角社区 and whose first language is not English. Choosing to study a Pre-sessional English course with us is a great alternative way to meet an outstanding language condition, and to prepare for full-time study at 海角社区.
In-Sessional English
In-sessional English classes are additional academic English language classes for international students who are already studying for a degree at the University of 海角社区. Known as our Academic English Enhancement Programme, classes are available in blocks for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
