The University of º£½ÇÉçÇø has been ranked 6^th among the UK universities most targeted by the country’s leading graduate employers according to ‘The Graduate Market in 2024’ survey.

The top five universities currently targeted by the largest number of the UK’s leading graduate employers are Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, Leeds, and Bristol, with the University of º£½ÇÉçÇø following closely in 6th place. All these universities attracted significant attention from employers featured in The Times Top 100 Graduate Employers list.

The report assessed universities based on their ability to attract top graduate employers through various channels, including university careers fairs, on-campus presentations, virtual events, and careers service initiatives.

The report highlighted changes in graduate recruitment trends, noting a decrease in recruitment in 2023 after a surge in graduate vacancies in 2021 and 2022, as employers looked to compensate for reduced recruitment during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Forecasts for 2024 indicate a positive outlook, with a projected 1.5% increase in available graduate vacancies. Additionally, for the third consecutive year, graduate starting salaries at leading UK employers are expected to rise, reaching a new median starting salary of £34,000.

This year’s projected median starting salary of £34,000 marks a 13.3% increase since 2020, with the most lucrative median salaries offered by investment banks (£55,000), law firms (£50,000), and consulting firms (£47,500).

Leading the pack in published graduate starting salaries for 2024 are international law firms White & Case (£52,000) and Allen & Overy, Baker McKenzie, Clifford Chance, Herbert Smith Freehills, Latham Watkins, Linklaters, and Slaughter and May (each £50,000), along with retailer Aldi (£50,000).
