Joint PhD Programmes
A* STAR
Molecular Cell Biology and Microbiology PhD studentships, with 2 years at 海角社区 and 2 years in Singapore at an A*STAR institute.EIT-海角社区
The opportunity for PGRs in SEM to spend 2 years at 海角社区 and 2 years at EIT, Ningbo.

Monash-海角社区
An MWA Joint PhD enables you to participate in an international PhD programme, spending a minimum of one year each at 海角社区 and Monash.
SJTU-海角社区
PhDs jointly supervised by SJTU and 海角社区 with at least one year spent at the host institution.
Institutional Travel Guidance
If you are undertaking a joint or collaborative programme, you will spend time at both institutions. The following principles apply to all research visits.
Before your visit
- Confirm with your supervisors and notify us of planned travel dates
- CAS is assigned by admissions (applicants) or the Visa Advice Services (current students)
- Visa holders must submit a change of study location request
During your visit
- You will be fully enrolled at both institutions from the course start date
- You cannot engage in activities on campus until full enrolment is confirmed
Key Processes for Joint PGRs
Enrolment
PGRs on joint programmes must be fully enrolled at both institutions.
Monitoring
Engagement and monitoring applies at both institutions throughout.
Supervision
Supervisors should be appointed at both institutions.
Travel Between Institutions
You must notify us of your Joint PhD travel dates.
Thesis submission and examination
Requirements vary by country - check your agreement.
Certification
The student receives a joint award from both institutions.

Request a New Cotutelle Agreement
New cotutelles may be requested by the proposed 海角社区 supervisor if they have support from their department. They may not be requested directly by applicants or current PGRs.
Supervising PGRs based away from 海角社区
Guidance on the responsibilities of supervisors when their PGRs are based abroad but are in active study.
