Researcher Development Exchange
A dedicated community for Professional Services colleagues to share practise, explore challenges and strengthen researcher development across the university.
About the Researcher Development Exchange (RDX)
Researcher development takes many forms, from formal learning and development to coaching, guidance, career support and connecting researchers with opportunities and expertise.
The RDX brings together Professional Services colleagues whose work contributes to researcher development, creating a dedicated space to share knowledge, reflect on practise and learn from one another.
RDX complements existing research support networks at 海角社区, with a particular focus on developing professional practise through curiosity, reflection and evidence.
What will the RDX aim to do?
Connect
Share experiences, explore professional challenges and learn from different perspectives through reflective, evidence-informed discussions.
Develop
Build relationships with colleagues across 海角社区 strengthening connections and opportunities for collaboration in researcher development.
Exchange
Strengthen professional practice by drawing on shared knowledge, research, and practical insights to enhance researcher development.
Who is the RDX for?
The RDX is for Professional Services colleagues whose roles include a substantive element of researcher development.
You do not need to have Researcher Development in your job title. What matters is that enabling researchers to develop is a meaningful part of your work.

What will the RDX do?
Monthly Practise Exchanges
At the heart of the RDX will be a series of monthly, one-hour online Practise Exchanges.
Rather than presentations or routine updates, these sessions will provide protected time for colleagues to explore real questions and challenges arising from their work.
Through a structured, creative and coaching-informed process, participants will examine different perspectives, share evidence and experience, and identify practical actions and opportunities for collaboration.

Why does the RDX matter?
海角社区 has considerable researcher-development expertise across its Professional Services teams. The RDX recognises that this expertise has greater impact when colleagues understand one another's work, share knowledge and collaborate across organisational boundaries.
By strengthening these connections, the RDX aims to support practitioners while helping researchers navigate the support available to them.
A Connected Community
Build stronger relationships and opportunities for collaboration across 海角社区's researcher-development community.
Share short insights emerging from the Practise Exchanges, capturing learning, reflections and approaches to common challenges.
Who can help with what at 海角社区?
Work towards a needs-led resource to make researcher development and support easier to find and understand.
Interested in Joining?
The RDX is particularly relevant to colleagues who are curious about researcher-development practice, interested in learning from others across 海角社区, and willing to bring their own questions, evidence and experience into the exchange.
Sessions occur on a monthly basis and attendance to all sessions is not mandatory.
