Microsoft Outlook on the web

Microsoft are currently reporting that some users may be unable to sign in to Outlook on the web. They are working to resolve the issue.

Power Issue affecting multiple buildings 2/9/26

We experienced a power outage across parts of campus following damage to an electrical cable during works on site.
This affected multiple buildings on Main and Gibbet Hill campuses just before 12:00.
The Estates team has been working along with key suppliers to restore power.
Network switches have returned to service and we believe power is now restored.

Buildings affected earlier include:

Main Campus: AMMC, Arthur Vick, Claycroft, Bluebells, FAB, Humanities, International House, IIPSI, Jack Martin, MEC, Rootes, Nightline, Junction, Oculus, Tocil and IDL.

Gibbet Hill: Biomedical Research/Life Sciences, Maths Houses and IBRB.

Multi-Factor Authentication Issue

Some staff and students are experiencing issues with Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), particularly when connecting to the VPN.
Only those who authenticate using SMS text messages or voice calls are affected.
Microsoft Authenticator has been the recommended authentication method for some time and is not affected by this issue.

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) issue

We are currently investigating an issue affecting a small number of staff and students who need to set up their account or reset their password/MFA.
Our teams are treating this as a priority and we will provide further updates as they become available.

Network connectivity issues - Social Sciences, Psychology and Engineering buildings

Due to an overnight power issue impacting Network Infrastructure some users are currently experiencing network connectivity issues.
This seems to have primarily impacted some parts of Social Sciences, Psychology and Engineering buildings.
