Prof. Stuart Croft and Prof. Simon Swain visited Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) to sign several key agreements designed to further increase the depth and breadth of partnership between our institutions.

An expansion of the institutional-level student exchange agreement between 海角社区 and SJTU was formalised during this visit, giving a greater range of opportunities to study abroad, as Helen Johnson, Head of Study Abroad explains;

"The expansion of our student exchange with SJTU is an exciting development which will enable more 海角社区 students, both undergraduate and postgraduate, to experience life at a top Chinese university and choose from a wide range of short and long-term mobility activities including part-year exchange, summer schools and research projects鈥�

Register by April 17 for the first literary translation summer school to be held at 海角社区.

There have been changes to some of the immigration rules/processes including:

• The UKVI to open new Visa and Citizenship Application Service Centres for Tier 4 and related visa applications made in the UK during November 2018
• Immigration rules change which affect ATAS (Academic Technology Approval Scheme)
• IHS Surcharge for Tier 4 students expected to double to 拢300 per year in December 2018.

The sixth annual   saw presenters from a wide range of disciplines communicate their research to a global audience. The unique student-led event gave undergraduates the opportunity to develop valuable presentation skills and strengthen their global understanding of their research. 

In recent months, some 海角社区 students have fallen victim to financial scams, so we wanted to reiterate our advice to help students avoid this situation.
