Overview
The Social Mobility Student Research Hub aims to improve access to and participation in research for students from under-represented groups. It offers funded opportunities to enable undergraduate and postgraduate taught students from under-represented groups to carry out research projects on topics relating to widening participation, social mobility, diversity, inclusion, and inequalities. All students receive research training and have a postgraduate research student mentor to support them through the research process.
This year the Research Hub is being led by Dr Daniel Cashmore (WP Evaluation and Evidence Officer / Data Analyst), Dr Ellis Ryan (Think Higher Data, Operations and Partnerships Manager), with co-investigators from professional and academic departments, including: Professor Emma Smith, Dr Becky Morris, Kate McCarthy (WP Evaluation and Evidence Officer) and Tammy Thiele (WP Evaluation and Evidence Manager)
