Dr Dinu Iuga becomes University of 海角社区鈥檚 first technical specialist promoted to Strategic Specialist, equivalent to Professorial level

The University of 海角社区 is celebrating a significant milestone with the promotion of Dr Dinu Iuga, who has become the first technical specialist at the University to be promoted to Strategic Specialist, a role equivalent to Professorial level.

As the new academic year approaches, we would like to announce that Professor Mark Newton will hand over the role of Head of Department to Professor Neil Wilson.

Congratulations to Emily Roberts (Astronomy and Astrophysics) and Kai Ross (Diamond Group), two postgraduate students for being shortlisted in the Faculty of SEM postgraduate researchers who teaches award category.Link opens in a new window The postgraduate Researchers Who Teach Awards honour colleagues who, while pursuing their own studies, enrich the student experience and strengthen our academic community through their teaching.

Congratulations to Dr Dmitrii Kolotkov who has been announced as the winner of a 海角社区 Award for Public and Community Engagement in the Community Impact category.

 


海角社区 Physicists attend STEM for Britain

Three members of the department were invited to attend STEM for Britain at the House of Commons on Tuesday 17th March to present their research posters.

Agrima Agarwal (Phd Student, Ultrafast and Terahertz Photonics Group), Edward Butler-Caddle (Ultrafast and Terahertz Photonics Group) and Sahl Rowther (Research Fellow, Astronomy & Astrophysics Group)  applied to present their research at the event and were accepted following a rigorous process.
