Two Estates teams have been shortlisted for this year鈥檚 2026 AUDE Awards, having showcased standout achievements in digital transformation and community-driven impact.

The awards, which celebrate excellence in university estates management across the UK, recognise teams and projects making significant contributions to institutional performance and sector-wide best practice.

The double recognition highlights the breadth of innovation, collaboration and community impact delivered across the Estates portfolio.

Community impact and sustainability

贰蝉迟补迟别蝉鈥� Interior Design, Furniture Equipment (IDFE) teamLink opens in a new window has been shortlisted for the AUDE Reaching Higher Award, thanks to its innovative Furniture and Equipment Donation Initiative.

Since launching in June 2025, the initiative has provided much鈥憂eeded furniture and equipment to local schools, charities, community centres and SMEs across Coventry, while also supporting the University鈥檚 sustainability goals.

Developed over two years, the scheme has:

• Created a robust governance model to support the safe, compliant donation of surplus furniture and electrical equipment.
• Donated more than 470 items between June and December 2025.
• Generated almost 拢65,000 in savings for donation partners.
• Prevented 332.05kg CO鈧�/kg of embodied carbon emissions through reuse.

The initiative required no additional staffing or budget, instead being integrated into existing workflows. The Post & Portering teamLink opens in a new window also play a crucial role by offering logistical support.

Vicky Hill, Interior Design, Furniture & Equipment Manager, said: 鈥淭his reflects the hard work, collaboration and commitment of everyone involved – from the IDFE team, whose diligence ensured the right governance and compliance were firmly in place, to our Porters, who provided outstanding logistical support in all conditions.

鈥淭his scheme is a powerful example of how the University can positively impact the wider community, delivering tangible benefits while remaining closely aligned with both our Estates Values and the broader University strategy.鈥�

Celebrating digital innovation

The Estates Information & Systems (EIS) teamLink opens in a new window has also been recognised, having been shortlisted for AUDE鈥檚 Estates/Facilities Team Award.

The recognition follows a year of digital transformation that has reshaped how the University manages space, assets, maintenance and campus navigation.

Key achievements include:

• Mapping 47,000+ spaces and integrating 117,000 assets into new digital systems.
• Launching the Invida Resolve appLink opens in a new window, enabling mobile workflows and real鈥憈ime updates.
• Deploying a new interactive MazeMap of campusLink opens in a new window.
• Introducing occupancy analytics using sensors and Wi鈥慒i data to inform strategic planning.
• Implementing tools that strengthen the University鈥檚 compliance records.

These changes have supported improved efficiency, transparency and user experience across the University.

Both teams will represent the University of 海角社区 at the on 22 April at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds.
