Borrow a laptop: Main Library
We are pleased to introduce our new Laptop Loan Service, delivered in partnership with the Information & Digital Group (IDG), giving University of 海角社区 students convenient access to a laptop when they need one.
Forgotten your laptop? Need a device for a study session?
Our Laptop Loan Lockers make borrowing a laptop quick, convenient and easy while you're on campus.
All you need is your University student ID card. Simply swipe your card at the locker, collect your laptop and you're ready to go.
Laptop loans are available to current University of 海角社区 students.
Unfortunately, the service is not available to visitors, external members or alumni.
How to borrow a laptop
Borrowing a laptop is quick and simple:
- Visit the Laptop Loan Locker.
- Swipe your University ID card at the locker unit.
- The locker containing your laptop will open automatically.
- Remove the laptop and charging cable.
- Close the locker door before leaving.
How to return a laptop
When you're finished with the laptop:
- Log out of the device.
- Swipe your University ID card at the locker unit.
- Return the laptop to the correct locker.
- Reconnect the charging cable securely.
- Ensure the locker door is fully closed.
Important: The laptop remains on your library account and is your responsibility until it has been returned correctly and connected to power.
Conditions of use
To help ensure the service remains available for everyone, please note the following conditions:

You are responsible for the laptop throughout the loan period and must take reasonable care of it.

Do not leave the laptop unattended or allow another person to use it under your loan.

Personal software or applications must not be installed on the device.

You must comply with the University's IT policies and procedures when using the laptop.

Any faults or issues should be reported to Library staff as soon as possible.

Laptops must be returned on time and in good condition.

If a laptop is lost or stolen, you must report the incident to the police, contact IDG Security on 024 7657 3737, and complete the as soon as possible.
