On-campus support

The Community Safety team have an on-campus presence 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to provide pastoral support to everyone within our community.

In an emergency

If you are on campus and there is an immediate danger (someone needs urgent medical, police or fire help), call 999 first. If you can, please then use the Safezone app to contact Community Safety, or call the team on 024765 22222. The Community Safety team will attend to support while emergency services are on their way.

Non-emergency help

Need assistance, but it's not an emergency? Tap the blue 'non-urgent' button on the SafeZone app to chat or call for help. You can also use the app to request first aid, check in when studying or working alone, or report safety concerns (including anonymously).

Off-campus support

If you find yourself in an emergency off campus and need to contact the emergency services (Police, Ambulance or Fire Service), please call 999 and ask for the relevant service.

999 - Police, fire and ambulance

Call this number if you need urgent help and ask for: police, fire service or ambulance. If you can, please contact the Community Safety team through the Safezone app or on 024 7652 2222, after you have called 999.

101 - Non-emergency police

This number is for non-emergency calls. You can talk to your local police officer, get advice, or report things such as stolen/damaged property and minor crime or related activity.

111 - Non-emergency NHS (medical)

This number is for medical problems that do not require an emergency response. When you call, you will speak to someone who can advise you on what to do about your situation, whether that is for yourself or someone else.
