Thinking about pre-paying some of the course fees before you enrol?

If you hold an unconditional offer and would like your CAS to reflect any tuition fee payments you have already made, you can make payments through the Flywire Open Portal.

Unfortunately, international students are sometimes targeted by financial scams. Be cautious of anyone offering unofficial payment arrangements, discounted exchange rates or requests for direct bank transfers. Please only use approved University payment methods.

If you have not yet received your Student Visa, we recommend booking flexible travel arrangements where possible.

Your Student Visa will only be valid from up to 1 month before the course start date as stated on your CAS (for example, if your course start date is 28 September, the earliest date your visa may be valid is 28 August). Therefore, please do not book to travel too early.

Vaccination:

During your time at university, it’s important to make sure you are up to date with your vaccinations. Students who live and study closely together may have a slightly higher risk of infections such as meningitis, due to moving to a new place and mixing or being in close contact with other people. If you are under the age of 25, try to get the recommended vaccination (MenACWY and MengB) before you leave.

Some volunteering roles involving children or vulnerable adults may require a Certificate of Good Conduct (or equivalent criminal record certificate) from your home country. If volunteering is something you may be interested in, this is a good time to investigate how to obtain this document before you leave home.

Emails from our Enrolment Team inviting you to complete course registration are usually sent from late-August (4-6 weeks before your course start date).

• If you applied for a Student Visa outside of the UK, you will need to first receive your visa before you can complete course registration. You can still register for an IT account and upload your photo before receiving your visa.

• After completing course registration, you will need to book a slot for an in-person . You can do this via the Welcome Week timetable, when booking opens in early September. This check is compulsory for international students, so please make sure you book an appointment as soon as booking opens.

If you're arriving during our main arrivals window 24–27 September 2026, our Welcome Helpers will be based at Coventry Pool Meadow Bus Station during the day to help direct you for onward travel to campus or your local accommodation.

If you arrive at Birmingham Airport, you are encouraged to travel to campus by taxi. There is a direct local bus X1 that will take you to Coventry citry centre in about 40 minutes (if that's where you'll be staying).

Bring a bank card or prepaid travel card (preferably contactless) with you, as most cafés, restaurants and shops on campus only accept card or digital payments (such as Apple Pay or Google Pay).

Once you arrive, consider opening a UK digital bank account to help you manage your money while you settle in. Did you know? Many UK banks now offer app-based accounts that can be opened quickly before or after arrival. Having a UK account can make it easier to receive payments, pay rent and manage everyday spending.
