Borders, Race, Ethnicity and Migration Network (BREM)
BREM promotes interdisciplinary dialogue across the intersecting themes of migration, 'race', ethnicity and borders, broadly defined. It serves as an open forum for sharing research, developing new and existing collaborations, and supporting early career researchers.

Key questions addressed by BREM include:
-
What is the social, cultural, economic and political significance of historic and contemporary migrations?
-
In what ways are contemporary bordering practices changing, and with what implications for migrants and citizens?
-
What are the impacts, logics and moralities of state attempts to regulate migration?
-
What is the role of race and ethnicity in the formation of diverse subjectivities and societies?
-
How do bordering practices feed into processes of racialisation across multiple sites and locations (e.g. the university, workplace or law court)?
